Packing and testing

Gabrielle is packing!

It's just not feasible to pack for 65 nights, but equally, you can't take just a few clothes for a couple of weeks. We're passing through time zones, two tropics and one equator, ending up in similar weather conditions to home when we reach the Falkands. So, it's layers luvvie!
We've allowed ourselves two medium-ish and two smaller cases and all our worldly goods have been folded, rolled and crammed into every crevice in order to make best use of space. Multiple packs of meds have been rendered down into single boxes by ramming their contents into tighter spaces and books, electrics, walking gear and the kitchen sink have had to fight for space with everything else that claims priority.

Today, packing wasn't the only drama. Gabrielle has been suffering with a cold and was petrified it would be COVID. As we had to test today anyway, she was relieved to discover that we were both clear and we took the obligatory photo of our tests, our driving licences and a phone to show the time and date. For some, that small task will be easy. For others it will be a challenge. And for those who discover they actually do have COVID, a huge disappointment as they will be denied boarding. Or so the documentation says.

It's exhausting work, this getting ready for travel, so it's fish and chips from the local chippy tonight!
