We're in!

Somehow we have made it on board. Our first huge thanks go to Nick and Sue for bringing us to the ship. Not a bat of an eyelid as we produced yet one more suitcase. Blimey, there are a lot of suitcases for this trip. But the porter who took our suitcases away for us, was delighted to tell us that we weren't the most excessive. He'd come across a couple who had needed 3 trollies for all their suitcases. Sorry reader, we only needed one! Pathetic.

After all the dramas of the Yellow Fever vaccinations, there was a certain amount of delight when the first question was" Could you provide evidence of your Yellow Fever Vaccinations?"

There was a definite 'swagger' from the HE contingents, as we wopped out (so to speak!) our certificates. There was an inaudible sigh from us both as we were allowed into the next stage. Whereas next to us the chap was floored with this first question.

So we got through the first admission. That's the Health Check section. We then got through the second admission which was Passport control. Oh, and I have to reveal that our passports were taken from us for the whole trip! Yikes!

We then ventured into lunch. This is the only time we get a freebie. So, to be fair, we have rather gone for it. Pop, red wine, followed by pop and more red wine, followed by...you guessed it!

We have the most delightful room. When all our suitcases arrive, maybe our view will be that we should have booked a suite rather than a mini-suite, but hey, we're fine with what we've booked.

Our first impressions of the boat (YIKES sorry, SHIP!) are that it is beautiful. It's very Art Deco and quite simply stunning. It's chubby and in cruise ship terms, small.

In our room are instructions for meeting Tracy, who is our "wedding planner", for our appointment on Saturday...oh, that's tomorrow. Thankfully it's in the evening. We might just have woken up by then.
