Perfecting my pout and strut

Practice glamour for the fashion show?

Late afternoon yesterday, I got the phone call from my new agent, Monica, checking in with me that I was still ok for my starring role in the fashion show. Oh Lord, I don’t think Sindhu does a “healthy version” curry. Oh well, my claim at being small to medium in size might have to change to XXL.

Entertaining ourselves and being entertained. Or not.

Gabrielle with the lovely Janice

We’d been without Internet all day day-before-yesterday and yesterday and it became something of an inconvenience. Apart from the fact that we were unable to post our blogs, we lost touch with the UK at a time of political uncertainty (Brexit and Partygate, again) and in circumstances where we were unable to let anyone know why nothing was happening. And so, there we sat, heading into the North Atlantic and adrift, Internet-less. We couldn’t even check our Premium Bonds!

A confused glacier and Nick on one

The Pio XI Glacier

Posh frocks and James Bond suit ready, we set off to Anderson’s for our evening perambulate and more to the point, an alcoholic beverage. Anderson’s reminds us of a sedate, rather stuffy Gentleman’s Club, so isn’t our first choice, but I wanted a specific drink which they don’t serve in the Glass House.

Another certificate, Sindhu celebration and a slow Montevideo walk

We had been instructed by Janice, our delightful server in The Glass House that we must call by for a drink before we went to Sindhu, so she could see my dress. We got chatting, as we have each time we’ve seen her, and I enquired about her name. She certainly doesn’t look like a Janice. She laughed and said that when she was born, her dad had been watching a film with a Janice in it and that, as they say, is history. Feeling it wise to stick with the pop, we continued our celebrations with a lovely glass of Taittinger.

Today’s the day. Tonight’s the night!

This post is jointly written by Gabrielle and Nick. There will be another post tomorrow with all the pics!

The plan for last night was to go to The Glass House for a small pop and then go for dinner and have a glass of wine and an early night. You know when you have a plan and it goes out of the window? That was us last night.

Where is Aurora now?

Here's what's hot at the moment
