I am, of course, desperately trying to cling on to the bright side and my bright side is, that my (one) soup, stayed down last night. Result! The other bright side is that I had an epic night's sleep of 6 hours, which is awesome for me under normal circumstances, but in these conditions is remarkable.
As we hunkered down last night, there was a murmur next to me; "I wasn't expecting to wear a seat belt in bed". Under normal circumstances, I am a lie-on-the-edge-of-the-bed sleeper. However, that sleeping style would have seen me swiftly evicted from the bed.
We made it for breakfast and I've coped with toast and fruit. Still can't stomach tea weirdly. So after breakfast, I announced that I was going back to bed. It's tough when one of you suffers from motion sickness and the other doesn't. Nick's all perky and is now ready to party and investigate the ship, not that it'll take very long. Whereas I am still groaning and wandering around like a wet weekend. I've never been good with motion and still struggle with being driven, going on a long bus ride and being on boats. So I sent Nick off on his own to go to a photography lecture which I know I would have enjoyed, but just can't face right now.
It's strange walking around in our cabin because one moment you feel as though you're walking uphill and you're struggling. The next moment you get to where you were getting quicker as the ship falls the other way.
So today's fun facts are that we are now through the Bay of Biscay. We have covered 442 nautical miles, at an average speed of 18.4 knots. I have to wait until midnight for the swell to reduce by one metre and then tomorrow the swell should reduce further. Happy days.
